Visiting the toilet

Sunday 22. February

We got out of bed at 8 this morning, put our best suits on and had breakfast. Then we were taken to the churches we were going to visit. I went with Sofia and Rolf Daniel. The church was in a rural area of the city, with graveled roads, dust and cattle.

The church met in a small building, a regular house, actually, from which they were about to be thrown out. Both Sofia and I witnessed, and Rolf Daniel preached. The pastor and his family were lovely people, and they ran a ministry called "Faith Children's Ministries".

At the end of the service, we took part in the Lord's supper, and afterwards they gave us dinner, chicken and rice, and we talked for a while with our hosts. They were lovely people that we were allowed to bless. We also prayed with them that they should get a new place to have the church.

They took us back to the hotel in a small, Indian car, an Ambassador. We were 3 in the front and three in the back, there was a sofa in the front, also.

Back at the hotel, we went down to the pool to relax in the shadow, it was rather hot outside. I wrote a letter after a short swim in the pool, it was refreshing and cool. The water, that is. We said goodbye to Richard Armstrong, Lydia's friend, he was going to the north.

From the left: Rolf Daniel, Sofia, Lars Erik, Tone, Christopher, Inger, Tove, SverreNow we're waiting for the Afghan restaurant to open. Tomorrow we're leaving Hyderabad for a 500 km journey by bus to Narsapur at the east coast. We'll be teaching in the bible school in the day time and doing village ministry in the evenings. They say it's rather simple down there, Neil says we'll have to sleep on the floor. But the food is nice. And we're going back by train, first class. Indian standard, that is.

We had nice, Afghan food tonight also, but the chicken rolls were a bit too hot and spicy. We had a time of prayer at 1117 after dinner, and then we went to bed. Glory!
