How to visit the WC on the train in India Preparations Think carefully through the visit before you go. Bring some toilet paper, preferably in a plastic bag. Remember, there might not be a clean spot at the toilet. Localize beforehand the toilet with the least smell, that will give you a more pleasant stay. You may want to speak to someone who's been there before you. And you should bring some wet paper towels. How to dress When you're visiting thetoilet it's important to wear as little as possible. It's important to avoid getting your clothes against the walls, the floor, the roof or some other interior. For the gentlemen we recommend a pair of shorts, and some underwear that doesn't stick to your socks. For the ladies we would recommend a relatively short skirt, but be aware of the problems if you have already entered an upper bunk. And we recommend a pair of shoes that are easy to put on and off without the use of hands, as it will save you a lot of trouble. Procedures Make sure the toilet is vacant by pulling the door. When you get in, make sure you lock the door to avoid visitors during your stay. If possible, you should take off everything in the lower parts, but keep the shoes on. Bare feet or socks is not advisable. Placing the feet It is important not to get your back against the flush system. On the other hand, you should not sit too far forward, as the evacuation should hit the hole. Proceed tentatively till you find am agreeable position. Sitting position Depending on the duration of your stay, you should find a sitting position that's pleasant over time, as well as it's steady and doesn't hinder the evacuation. You may want to hold the handle if the train lurches much. Finishing When you are finished, it might be a good idea to move onto the floor, as it will be easier to throw the paper in the hole. After cleaning yourself, make sure you put the paper back in it's plastic bag to avoid getting it dirty. Then carefully take on your pants again, but remember that your legs may be weak if you have been sitting for a while, making you a bit staggering. Be careful with your clothes so they don't get in touch with your shoes or the floor, that might be disgusting. Discreetely withdraw from the toilet and steal back to your bunk. Wash your hands with a wet paper towel if you haven't already done it. Good luck!
